Description
JJC MSA-8 has a 1/4"-20 threaded socket on the bottom and a "cold" flash shoe on the top, and is designed for use with an auxiliary flash or accessory. The locking ring affixes this shoe to the device you screw it on to. It is ideally suited for use with any tripod, light stand, or bracket with a 1/4"-20 threaded stud.
Mount a flash gun onto a 1/4" Tripod screw with this handy accessory. Separate locking ring allows precise alignment.
Hot Shoe to 1/4" 20 Thread Adaptor with Locking Ring
This handy accessory comprises a small block with a standard hot shoe flash adaptor slot on one side.
The opposite side has a 1/4" tripod thread socket that rotates via a locking ring.
Using the adaptor it's possible to mount most devices that fit into a flash hot shoe, onto a standard tripod or other mount.
The locking ring allows for the precise positioning of the adaptor before it is locked into position.
The obvious use for this is to mount a flash gun off camera, but it is also useful for remote microphones and other non-flash items normally designed to fit into a hot-shoe.
